I have been looking through my post history, and I realised that I have been failing at carrying out my lessons… basically I have been making mistakes I have made before and falling back into bad old habits.
Therefore, I started reflecting and I remembered a couple sayings. I saw this quotes online (please note I paraphrase cause I can’t remember it verbatim)
“the problem of trying to win in the rat race is that in the end you’re still a rat”.
Social media meme
Then there was the other one which has a biblical reference again not exact:
“even though there was a lost sheep, it was still a sheep and hadn’t turned into a goat.”
Social media meme
This sayings remind me of the old saying that you can’t teach an old dog new tricks…
But is that the truth?
The answer is a clear resounding NO!!!
So then the fault must be with my methodology.
The book Power of Habit, which I have read ans even analysed in a prevoius post, clearly states how to go about systematically correcting bad habits.
But have I really identified my loop, triggers or cue, action and reward. Am I committed to changing them.
It could be as simple as a different methodology may be more comfortable for me but I see that as just a cop-out, so need to be more disciplined and disciple is about training your mind, growing your willpower.
So when you know better you are supposed to do better but you can only do what you believe in, now I am trying the Mind Boss Academy. Spent the money, took the plunge and intend to train my mind the same way I train my body.
My only consolation is that I know I will never stop trying.
God bless.
