Happy New Year and God’s blessings throughout the year.
Welcome to the first post of the year…. Yay!!!!
As we know better we do better, so we will be working with a schedule from now on. We will write and hopefully post blogs on Monday, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays. I learn, unlearn and relearn the power of routines and habits like every three months… but will not give up till it sticks.
Okay, back to today’s matter… I saw this quote below…
Even if you hear a bad story about me, understand, there was a time I was good to those people too, but they won’t tell you that part.
And had to share it.
This quote gave me pause not because I have had suffered the injustice, although that could be possible, but because I had been a party to bad mouthing someone or something from my past.
We all sometimes fall prey to it.
We forget the good times and fixate on the bad.
We complain about our childhood, our parents, our old place, our old job, our old school and most often our old relationships.
Now, don’t misunderstand me… if you are in a bad situation get out of it… I am a firm believer in seasons on our life so learn what needs to be learnt and move on.
But what I am saying is that even the worst memories have their sunny side. Nothing was absolutely bad.
This also raises the inverse that nothing is absolutely good, except God, but that is a post for another time.
So back to the matter…
We need to be careful to not let our hurt colour our perception. Always try to remember the positives with the negatives… and be grateful for surviving any experience and learning from it.
I recall talking to a new interest about my ex relationships… and I noticed how much I was only remembering the bad times and the problems in one particular relationship. But there were good times, there had to be, if not it would not have lasted as long as it did and nobody is irredeemable… just remember its God that redeems not you.
So again don’t delude yourself, but give credit where its due.
